Summer Camps, Intensives, and Workshops are offered to students of all ages. Camps include our dance program and academic subjects such as Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin), Math, Science, and Public Speaking. Intensives are focused specifically on training. Workshops are special series of classes which vary year to year.
CCAA offers Chinese dance classes to children, youth and adults, taught by qualified teachers formerly from the Chi-Ping Dance Group and specialized training with the Beijing Dance Academy. They offer multiple opportunities to perform, compete, and travel each year, having participated at the Toronto Raptors’ Halftime Show, Toronto Fringe Festival, Harbourfront Centre, Carassauga Festival, Asian Heritage Month, Queen’s Park Canada Day celebrations, Pan-Am Games Countdown Celebration, Yee Hong Foundation’s Dragon Ball, etc. In 2019 CCAA Dancers represented Canada and travelled to Macedonia, along with representatives from other countries, to perform in a folk dance festival. CCAA Dancers received Platinum Awards in a National Finals dance competition in Orlando, Florida, and Overall Champions in a competition in Markham.

Dance Competition
Our highly experienced instructors encourage aesthetic education to promote the understanding and appreciation of Chinese Dance in young dancers.
Training classes are offered to enhance the physical and acrobatic agility and control of dancers and individuals, so that it can be applied to their dance training or for fitness and health awareness.
This curriculum includes basic techniques and body rhythm, Chinese folk dances, floor exercises and acrobatics, dance rhythm awareness, and music-song accompaniments.
Competitive dancers are pushed to further develop their dance skill level. They will have the opportunity to participate in various regional and national level competitions, and become further exposed and understand Chinese culture as they work to refine their routines.
Martial Arts & Lion Dance
Camps
The Kung Fu and Lion Dance class will teach students the basics of a traditional southern lion dance and the Kung Fu necessary to give life and spirit to the lion. In modern times the lion dance is used to ward off evil, bring about good fortunes, mourn of loss or a celebration of festivities. Students will learn lion head first before being cross-trained into other roles.
