Doris Yang graduated from the Shenyang China Dance Art School in 1977 and served as a professional dancer and choreographer in the Shenyang Song & Dance Ensemble from 1977 – 1996. She has created and danced hundreds of Chinese folk dances in her own country and abroad, with great success.
Since moving to Canada, she has taught Chinese Folk Dance for the Chi-Ping Dance Group since 1998, where her choreography has won numerous awards. Currently, she is the Artistic Advisor to the Chinese Collective Arts Association, where she continues to teach and choregraph dances for advanced level students as well as their professional level dancers.

Ms. Karen Wong has participated in the International Folklore Dance Festival in Mexico, Honourary Tour Invitation from Dr. Stanley Ho in Macau, and cultural exchanges at invitational performances with Zhong San, China, and Hong Kong. At the young age of 9, Karen had began receiving countless competition awards that began with a Gold Medal at the 1996 Canadian National Dance Championship, 1st Place at the 1997 North American Chinese Dance Competition in Vancouver, BC, Gold Medal Top Five Finalists at the 1999 Canadian National Dance Championships National Finals in Calgary, Alberta. She has continued to receive high achieving awards with Chi-Ping Dance Group at various competitions since. Karen has also been in a dancer for artists such as Hong Kong Song Artists such as Liza Wang 汪明荃, Kar-Ying Law 羅家英, David Lui Fong 吕方, Joey Meng 萬綺雯, and other local events.
Karen is currently a certified Beijing Dance Academy Syllabus teacher, trained at the Beijing Dance Academy in November 2013, and offers dance classes from ages 4 to Youth/Adult. She prepares students for regional and national competitions and performances all the while performing herself as a principal dancer with CCAA.
Name: Lisa Yun Chong Lee 李潤莊

Ms. Yun Chong Lee studied Chinese Dance under the renowned Ng Sai Fun in Hong Kong. She has starred in various stage and movie productions in her dance career in Hong Kong. She has also obtained her Beijing Dance Academy teacher certificate. After immigrating to Canada, she has taught at Chi-Ping Dance Group.
Currently, Ms. Lee teaches Beijing Syllabus classes and adult Chinese Dance classes.

Ms. Elven Koo started dancing with the Chi-Ping Dance Group at 4 years old. She has participated in many local and international dance events in Mexico, Macau, and Hong Kong. At the age of 9, she received awards in dance competitions in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto. Ms. Koo has portrayed many dance characters in past drama productions such as the younger sister of Mulan, White Snake, and the Spider Queen. She currently teaches Chinese dance with the Chinese Collective Arts Association and has choreographed a number of dances, including award-winning pieces. Ms. Koo is a certified teacher with the Beijing Dance Academy. She continues to perform with CCAA as a principal dancer, as well as preparing CCAA’s elite dancers for regional and national competitions.
Name: Amy Man 萬綺雯

Ms. Amy Man is an accomplished dancer, dance teacher, Tai Chi master, and yoga instructor. As a dancer in Hong Kong, she was Supporting Dancer and eventually moving on Title Dancer in the Hong Kong Dance Company. She performed in regular bimonthly performances at Hong Kong City Hall and toured with the company in their world tours in major cities in Europe, Japan, Australia, China, and South Korea. Ms. Man moved onto teaching dance, Tai Chi, and yoga at various schools in Hong Kong and Canada.
Ms. Man is a certified instructor of Chinese Dance from the Beijing Chinese Dance Institute and a certified instructor of ballet from the Beijing Dance Institute. She is a certified instructor from the Hong Kong Tai Chi Association for Tai Chi Chuan and Tai Chi Sword, both Yeung style. She has also trained at the Japanese Dance School in Tokyo.
Currently Ms. Man teaches Chinese dance, dance technique, and Tai Chi to students at CCAA.
Name: Wilfred Tang

Passionate traditional Chinese Kung Fu martial artist with over 25 years of training under the Chung Wah Kung Fu system with Sifu Lee Chi Wai. Sifu Wilfred has been teaching traditional Kung Fu and lion dance to adults, teens, and children since 2003. He joined Chi Ping Dance Group in 2012 as the martial arts instructor, choreographing and participating in fight scenes for the annual gala. Sifu Wilfred was also a past member of the Board of Directors at CCAA.
Sifu Tang currently teaches Lion Dance (all levels) and Kung Fu at CCAA.

Name: Christine Leung

Christine Leung started her dance journey with Chi-Ping Dance Group at the age of 4. Since then she has participated in countless performances, one of the many being the Raptors Halftime Show, and has completed intermediate levels of the Beijing Dance Academy Examination with outstanding remarks. She started competing at the age of 11 and has since attended many competitions to bring home Platinum and Gold awards from Los Angeles, Atlantic City, Orlando, and around Ontario. She first took interest in teaching dance at the age of 15 when she started assisting the teachers of CCAA. She further went on to teach and choreograph Chinese dance at McMaster University.
Ms. Leung currently teaches Chinese Dance to primary level recreational and competitive level students at CCAA.

Kate Luo first began dancing at the age of 3 with Tai Yang Zi Dance Academy. Passionate about the arts, she went on to learn various styles of dance, regularly participating in dance events across Canada. She later joined the Chinese Collective Arts Association as a member of the performance team. Name: Loretta Leung

Loretta Leung started dancing with Chi-Ping Dance Group in 1992. Though her education and career have taken her to different cities, her passion for dance and culture did not change, but instead she sough more opportunities to further her dance and cultural experience, including training with Hengda Li while working on the west coast. Ms. Leung is a certified teacher with the Beijing Dance Academy, however her passion lies in teaching acrobatics – she is a certified Acrobatic Arts teacher and is also certified to teach the Alixa Flexibility Method.
Ms. Leung teaches acro to students of all levels at CCAA.
Name: Man Yi Mark 麥敏誼

Man Yi Mark has been coaching Wushu since 1998. Her coaching portfolio also includes strength and conditioning, acro, archery, volleyball, and basketball. She holds a Bsc Honours in Kinesiology as well as a certificate in Sports Administration from York University. Man Yi was a member of the Canadian National Wushu team from 1997-1999, and was the Canadian National Duo Shu gold medalist. She has completed her NCCP Multi Sport Modules and studied Wushu under the tutelage of the Guangdong Wushu team, China and the Gangwon-do Wushu team, South Korea. Man Yi and her team have participated in dance/theater productions, fight choreography, film/television, and have placed successfully in local, national and international competitions.
Coach Man Yi currently teaches wushu and gymnastics at CCAA.
Name: Peter Loung

Peter Loung has been a performer his whole life and he balances the gambit of all genres of performance. From the age of five years old he started playing the guitar which lead him to the prestigious Royal Conservatory of music where he finished his upper level studies (ARCT). Peter is a professional dancer and acrobat who has toured with and performed for the likes of Wyclef Jean, Britney Spears, Soul Decision, Zero Gravity Circus, and the world famous circus empire Cirque Du Soleil. Peter is also an actor who has shared the screen with such people as: Tom Berenger, Robin Williams, Edward Norton, and Erin Karpluk to name a few.
Coach Peter teaches gymnastics and acro classes for both boys and girls at CCAA.
