Karen has been training in Chinese Dance at Chi-Ping Dance Group (CPDG) since age 4 and has experienced countless competitions, tours and performances locally, nationally and internationally. Karen has excelled in folk, classical and contemporary Chinese Dance through participating in Canadian National Dance Championships Regionals and Finals, North American Chinese Dance Competitions in Vancouver, International Folkore Dance Festival in Mexico, Honourary Tour Invitation from Dr. Stanley Ho in Macau. She has explored dance on a personal level while studying at University of Waterloo and as Director of the Waterloo Chinese Dance Company. Karen is currently teaching children’s dance classes, Beijing Dance Academy Examination Syllabus classes, and prepares students for national competitions all the while performing herself on a regular basis with CPDG.
Karen has been a Founding Director of Chinese Collective Arts Association (CCAA) since its establishment in 2009 and it is her passion to further explore Chinese culture and arts and to share it with the public through creative and innovative ways.
